In India, basically there are four seasons- summer, rainy,  winter and spring. Rainy Season is also known as monsoon season. It starts from July and lasts till  September. In rainy season there are greenery everywhere and it looks very pleasant and attractive. This season is favourite of almost every person. Ponds, rivers and streams are full of water. It helps farmers by providing them water for agriculture. It gives us relief from the hotness of summer season.  Sometimes rainbow is also visible in rainy season which is very attractive for kids and elderly people too. Many poor people who sleep on roadside have problems in finding shelter in rainy season. Also flood is the major drawbacks of heavy rainfall.

Rainy season is best among all four seasons. It is my favourite season. The clouds of different shades moves in the sky and looks very nice. The Sun play hide and seek with clouds. All the trees and plants get covered with the new green leaves. Rainy season starts from southern part of India with the onset of southwest monsoon wind. July and August are the rainiest months of the rainy season. This season is helpful to us in many ways. The soil becomes wet. It is a good season for cultivation. The rainy season is also with troubles. Excessive rain causes flood and absence of rain creates drought. It brings disruption in our routine life. Inspite of all these we enjoy rain and also celebrate many Indian festivals with great enthusiasm in this season.

The rainy season follows summer season. According to Hindu Calendar this season is felt in the months of Asaadha and Shravana. The sky is overcast with clouds. Trees get fresh water. Ponds and canals are filled with water. Farmers are seen busy in the fields. But due to excessive rain roads become full of water. Normal work generally gets disrupted. But, incessant rainfall often causes flood. It also brings some diseases with it. Common people suffer much. Crops are washed away. News of death and destruction also reach our ears. Thus, the rainy season brings hope in one hand, despair on the other. Yet, common people look forward to the happy days and wait patiently for the autumn to come.
